Education & Libraries

Supporting the Selbyville Library and Selbyville schools in and surrounding Selbyville is the essence of the Selbyville Community Club's (SCC) mission. Our members are dedicated to helping wherever they can and much of our fundraising efforts go toward Education & Libraries. We recently completed a campaign to Thank teachers at Selbyville Elementary School for their efforts over the past year. Titled the Leprechaun Project, members donated all kinds of items and leprechauns filled bags to bring to teachers for St.Patrick's Day. Click on the dots below the picture to see more pictures.

SCC has had a wonderful and long-standing relationship with the Selbyville Library and it holds a special place in our member’s hearts. We support the Library’s Summer Reading and Summer Luncheon programs and help with the annual Art Show.

SCC strives to support local students and believes that education is essential to building strong communities. Every two years, SCC awards a scholarship to a graduating High School Senior in the area. This year, we also partnered with Phillip C. Showell Elementary School (PCS) to provide school supplies and to donate to the school’s Christmas for the Needy Fund. We also support the Florence Rogers Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society at Selbyville Middle School with financial support for their Honor Society induction ceremony.

We continue to support Project V.I.L.L.A.G.E. (Verbally Intensive Literacy and Learning Activities for Growth). With the onset of Covid , enrollment has jumped and their needs for funds have increased. SCC donates funds to help the program wherever it is needed most.
