See what we've been up to in 2023!

December 11, 2023, the Selbyville Community Club met with the Delaware Veterans Group to pick up 70 bags of collected clothes for our Sweats for Vets clothing drive. The community came together and dropped off clothing at Selbyville City Hall while clothes were collected from communities from our members and independent donors. We are so apprecitive and so were the Vets!

On Thursday, August 3, 2023, the Selbyville Community Club toured Phillip C. Showell Elementary School's wonderful mural depicting the history of Selbyville. First unveiled on March 7, 2018, the mural shows some of the influence SCC's art program in the Selbyville Community.

With the help of a local artist, all students were involved through social studies, walking trips, writing journals and help with the walls.

The mural is a really unique timeline and has over 500 little biddies (baby chicks) scattered throughout the mural. It is an incredible testiment to the collaborative value of art in the classroom. Using a multidisciplinanry model, the students used history and reading to research Selbyville's history and artifacts. They documented their research, interviewed local businesses and incorporated what they learned into the mural. It is a wonderful and fascinating stroll through Selbyville's history.
